Director of Finance & Accounting Location: Amherst, NY
Starting Salary: Starting at $125,000.00 based on experience
Essential Functions: Management (with people reporting responsibilities) -
- Create and maintain a safe, secure, diverse, inclusive, engaged and compliant work environment that empowers employees to achieve departmental and company results

- Plan, organize and maintain department control in support of executing corporate and departmental business objectives that ensures productivity, goal achievement, budget and forecast adherence and allows for effective and efficient operations
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train new employees
- Lead and execute performance management activities to include DIALOG and performance improvement plans that support employee development
- Commit and foster adherence to the company's quality management system and timely execution of tasks assigned within it
- Work together with fellow managers in a professional, respective and collaborative manner
- Provide strategic direction and supervision to employees in the Accounting and Financial Reporting departments; foster a high-performing team culture through mentorship and coaching
- Oversee the preparation and reporting of the annual budget and forecasts
Supervise technical period end closing in FI and CO
- Manage preparation of monthly financial statements including all reporting requirements to the parent company
- Review account reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the Accounting department
- Oversee monthly cost analysis including communication and review of results with Management
- Coordinate all activities related to the year-end audit
- Evaluate and improve efficiencies within the department
- Assist in development and implementation of department and/or company-wide projects and initiatives
- Oversee cash management banking and financial institution relationships. Negotiate bank and service fees. Implement new bank technologies, products and services to improve cash cycle and simplify company operations.
- Manage all cash management functions including cash concentration, wires, accounting funding. Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs.
- Advise staff regarding the treatment of non-routine reporting transactions
- Develop flexible financing programs to enhance customer experiences without compromising company risk
- Prepare and present monthly financial package and ad-hoc requests to executive team
- Function as SAP Power User for accounting andfinancial reporting processes
Your Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years’ experience in public accounting or corporate and financial accounting necessary
- Financial modeling and proficient computer skills required
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required
- SAP experience preferred
