This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Ports and Marine Engineer for our Anchorage, AK office** . For over 40-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design in the Puget Sound, for the U.S. Navy, and worldwide. You would be joining the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the country. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging. Be involved in projects with our **Ports and Maritime Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and civil/structural engineers working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors and private entities. Your Impact + Perform civil/structural engineering design for marine and upland components + Perform berthing and mooring analyses + Develop plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for variety of port and Navy projects + Understand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61 + Prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports + Understand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects + Attend client meetings and perform site visits + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are **Required Qualifications** + Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in analysis and design of port structures + Bachelors in Civil/Structural Engineering + Engineer in Training Certification. + Knowledge of marine, port, and coastal engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues. + Knowledge of relevant marine, port, and coastal construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. + Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. + Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. + Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering + Essential Professional Licensure/Certification. + Seismic Design Background/Experience + Previous experience in preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates + Hands-on analyses and design experience \#LI-AC1 **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
