Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of all learning activities in any given course. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners, organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development, curriculum design, and other activities that contribute to the department, division, and College. The instructor performs all other duties as directed by the Department Chair, Division Dean, CAO /Provost, or the President or designee.
The person in this position will split time and responsibilities between teaching Art History courses and serving as the Art Gallery Director for the Marlboro Hall Art Gallery at PGCC . This position will play a vital role in developing the art history curriculum and utilizing the art gallery as a key learning space of the arts for students and the community. Other professional duties include serving on college committees, working on department and area projects, attending assigned meetings, advising students, supervision and management of the gallery spaces, developing and managing art history curriculum, and general stewardship of the art history area. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions maybe required. Occasionally the ability to physically move and lift materials 5-25 pounds maybe required.
