Healthy Mind & Brain Center (HMBC) is a leading mental health treatment group offering a diverse range of evidence-based therapies. We integrate both traditional methods—such as CBT, EMDR, trauma-focused, and individual therapy—and non-traditional techniques including neurofeedback, neuroplasticity training, meditation, and brain training. Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic, hands-on executive responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of HMBC. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial direction of the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all accounting and finance functions across the organization

  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Oversee corporate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

  • Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

  • Manage and cultivate relationships with banks and other financial institutions

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations

  • Lead tax planning, filing, and liaise with relevant federal and state tax agencies

  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness

  • Oversee regulatory financial reporting, including submissions to the Department of Insurance and other agencies

  • Provide financial analysis and reports to external evaluators such as A.M. Best to support company ratings

  • Deliver clear, data-driven reporting to the Board of Directors

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Claims, Marketing, Underwriting, IT, etc.) to optimize financial operations and performance

  • Recommend and implement cost-saving strategies and process improvements

  • Lead initiatives related to financial systems, technology, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Evaluate and improve automated accounting processes, recommending and implementing automation to increase efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field

  • CPA designation strongly preferred

  • Minimum of [insert years] of progressive financial leadership experience

  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct and performance

  • Strong experience in automated accounting systems and financial technologies; able to assess and enhance current systems for increased efficiency through automation

  • Experience in the property & casualty insurance industry highly desirable

  • Knowledge of premium accounting, reserves, and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) preferred

  • Proficiency in Power BI and other modern financial reporting tools

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
