Associate Attorney – Business & Real Estate Litigation

A Newport Beach law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in business and real estate litigation , particularly in land-use matters for multimillion-dollar properties. Our firm is a recognized leader in the manufactured housing industry and known statewide for our legal victories.

This role provides the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, work directly with clients, and contribute to high-profile litigation matters. The firm is based in Newport Beach, CA , but may consider remote/hybrid arrangements for the right candidate.

Position Overview

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload of 15-30 cases , meeting deadlines, preparing pleadings and discovery, and making court appearances. The role requires a strong legal background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to handle cases independently while also collaborating with senior attorneys.

Qualifications:

• 2-8 years of law firm experience
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active California State Bar membership with no disciplinary record
• Ability to bill a minimum of 1,700 hours per year
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience with law and motion practice, discovery responses, and depositions
• Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills
• Experience preparing motions and briefs
• Trial experience preferred
• Construction defect experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of 15-30 cases , ensuring all deadlines are met
• Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
• Conduct legal research and draft briefs
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and mediations
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $180,000 – $220,000/year
• Annual Performance Bonus for exceeding billable requirements
